Michael B. Jordan and Raye Are Living a High School Romance

This week in tabloid news, People penned an exclusive announcing that Michael B. Jordan and Raye “really like each other” after their recent date to Six Flags Magic Mountain, and my only question is…Are we in high school?

The Oscar winner and the singer who famously asked, “Where the hell is my husband?” were spotted on a date at the LA amusement park over the weekend, which is not exactly the most conventional first-date spot for a couple of celebrities, but hey, maybe they’re thrill seekers. While this was the first the general public had heard of the romance, on Tuesday a source revealed to People that the two have been going steady.

“Michael and Raye have been on a couple dinner dates before this,” said the source. “Things are new between them, but they really like each other.” The phrasing of “really like each other,” the concept of going on an amusement-park date at 39, and Jordan’s overalls are all working together to trigger some very specific high school romance flashbacks. Did they K-I-S-S? Did they hold hands? Did they make it back before curfew?

“Raye tells friends that Michael is her type and that he is warm and kind,” the source adds. However, in the same exclusive, a different source told the outlet that Michael and Raye are “just friends” and that they were at Six Flags with “a group of people.” Hm…Well, another source told ME in third-period trig that Raye like-likes Michael, BUT he’s graduating next year, and she’s really trying to focus on her leading role in the fall musical. So we’ll see.

In all seriousness, Raye has made it very clear that she is looking for her husband and would like a diamond ring STAT. Is Jordan the guy? He has kept his romantic life mostly private over the years. The last we heard, in 2022, he had parted ways with Steve Harvey’s daughter, Lori Harvey, after about two years of dating. During his successful Sinners awards-season run, he opted to bring his family along to the awards show with him instead of a date, which sounds like husband material to me. So, Raye, even if he doesn’t give you that diamond ring you want, you might still be able to score a date to the homecoming dance.
