Travis Kelce Debuts New Accent in First Statement Since Marriage to Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce is emerging from the fog of a secret wedding and an even more secret honeymoon to give the people a few insights into the most exclusive event of the year, from the groom himself. In his first public statements since his wedding to Taylor Swift, Kelce shared some details of the wedding for us to picture in our heads (because there are still no photos).  

On Wednesday, Kelce spoke to reporters at a Kansas City Chiefs training camp, where I have to imagine he was not expecting anyone to ask him about his actual job. The people only came to hear about one thing. So what information was he willing to share with us without violating his NDA?

“It was a fun off-season, man,” he began. “The wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us. That’s all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration, but [now] it’s football, baby.”

On the couple’s highly contentious wedding venue choice, he then went on to say, “MSG, baby. You know, I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in training camp. I didn’t get my opportunity to go then.” (First, public “my wife” drop, BTW)

“So, it was cool to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues. To be able to get married there. I thank the owners of MSG for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing that we wanted a private event and everything, so it was perfect.”

While that’s great and all, I swear his voice didn’t sound like that before. (He literally talks for a living on his podcasts, New Heights, so you can see for yourself too) This is not what a man from Cleveland, Ohio, sounds like. This is more new-age country, mixed with Chet Hanks’ Jamaican accent, mixed with a “Hey, Mamas” lesbian, and I’m scared. Who knows, perhaps a summer of hiding from the general public and listening to Swift’s rumored country return might do that to a man!

In other news, Kelce added that the “AC was cooking” at MSG, but he may have forgotten that the weekend they got married was in the middle of a July 4th heat wave, when New Yorkers were asked to set their ACs to 78 degrees to avoid overwhelming the grid. And if the New York Post gets wind that MSG was kept at a cool 68 for T&T, they’re going to have a field day. Best get Kelce back into the Taylor Swift PR training camp, STAT.
