What’s Hiding in Dua Lipa’s Giant Ass Chanel Tote Bag?
Callum Turner? Are you in there?

On Thursday, Dua Lipa stepped out in style at JFK Airport. At least I think that was her. I couldn’t get a clear view because she was hiding behind the largest tote bag I have ever seen.
Knowing Dua, she is probably en route to Mallorca or Ibiza or Lake Como, schlepping a Chanel Maxi Shopping Bag along with her. The bag—which the trades are already calling “ludicrously capacious”— is from the unreleased Chanel Cruise 2027 collection and is roughly the size of a small lifeboat. (Perfect for the boat ride on the French Riviera, or drug smuggling!)

Does this even fit in an overhead bin? (I swear they get smaller every year) Rather–and this would be a critical hack–does this count as an airline’s allotted “small personal item?” Because if I were a Frontier flight attendant, I would surely be subjecting this pop star to the humiliating rite of passage of shoving one’s bag into the airline’s bag sizer in front of all of Boarding Group 7 to prove it fits.
A bag this large begs the question: what could Dua be hiding in there?
- Liquids over 3.4 oz?
- The new album?
- Banned books from her banned book library?
- The entire island of Sicily?
- The director’s cut of One Night Only?
- A second, smaller bag?
- Is she smuggling her new British husband, Callum Turner, whom she married this summer in Palermo?
Don’t put it past the queen of vacationing to hack the travel game and find a carry-on that is big enough to fit anything a person could need. While this colorway has yet to be released, a similarly gargantuan tote from the label’s 2026 collection retails for $8,100. So if you have a spare 8 grand, you could travel in style like her, too. But no promises that TSA will be as kind. You’d probably end up at home googling “civil asset forfeiture” while some gate agent tools around with your $8,000 accessory.
Dua, if you’re out there, please give the people a proper “What’s in my bag?” video to put the rumors to rest, and let us know if, when traveling with our own ludicrously capacious bag, we need to purchase a separate ticket, specifically for the bag.
