The More We Know About Trump’s Devoted 35-Year-Old Aide, the Worse it Gets

Looks like Sen. Jon Ossoff really blasted wide open the hornet’s nest with this one.

The More We Know About Trump’s Devoted 35-Year-Old Aide, the Worse it Gets

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been just a few days since Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Georgia) resurfaced the curious and strange ????-ship Trump has with White House aide Natalie Harp. (Harp, who was—prior to entering Trump’s immediate orbit—once described by members of the Secret Service as being so obsessed with him that she posed “a potential danger to herself as well as to [him].”) Because, as things have since unfolded, it appears Ossoff has poked; no, kicked; no, blasted wide open the hornet’s nest with his original dig.

For starters, since then, Trump—for the first time—was publicly asked about his connection to the 35-year-old Harp, who’s been appearing at greater frequency at various meetings and in the Oval Office, and typically beside the president. But when a journalist addressed Ossoff’s comments during a press gaggle, Trump dismissed the senator as “Pee-wee Herman” and said he’d rather focus on “building a great facility” at the White House.

So what were these original comments? Well, speaking to a crowd on Sunday, Ossoff had said, “While the sailors on the [USS] Lincoln fight his war while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings. He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie.”

Harp’s proximity to Trump has previously received some attention, originally joining Trump’s campaign as what journalist Michael Wolff dubbed his “fetch-it girl,” and since becoming a “human printer” that brought around with her a portable printer to make documents for Trump, to order. And not without making some enemies along the way. Reportedly, at one point during Trump’s campaign, Trump’s staff deliberately tried to block Harp from having housing at his country club—though refusing to be stopped, she stayed in a maid’s room, only to move even closer to him and stay in the women’s locker room for the summer. Oh, how I wish this wasn’t so pathetic.

But the more I hear about the story, the worse it gets. There’s now also the matter of more unearthed letters she’s written to the president, correspondence we’d previously thought we’d seen the worst of when the New York Times exposed in 2025 that she’d written him things like “You are all that matters to me”; “I don’t ever want to let you down”; and “I want to bring you joy, to feel like we can get through a day without ever having to talk ‘work.’” (Friendly reminder, please never talk to your bosses like this.)

Because! The NYT appears to have snagged a new letter where she apologizes to Trump for being an “embarrassment” after running behind his golf cart across Scotland; saying she wants “things to always be right between us”; and adding, “I know I’ve been distracted all week (forgetting to eat throughout the days, and even forgetting to sleep, and only catching a couple hours at a time).” (Friendly reminder pt. 2, please never settle for a boss that lets you talk like this.) She signed things off with, “With all my heart, Natalie.”

On Wednesday, CNN also heaped onto the piling shitshow, reporting for the first time that Harp in 2023 was so dedicated to Trump that when he was due to appear in court in New York, she clambered into a SUV trunk because there was no room for her in his motorcade. (Per the two sources that relayed this to the outlet, she launched into a “screaming match” when Trump’s staffers revealed she wouldn’t be able to ride with them.) “[Trump] likes the attention and the fact that she is 100% committed and loyal,” one White House official told the outlet of her current status in his orbit. “She doesn’t second-guess, doesn’t question.” (You know what? Just a general friendly reminder, don’t do any of the things she’s doing.)

To jolt things from weird to downright creepy, one of the unnamed officials that spoke to CNN also emphasized Trump and Harp have a “father-daughter” relationship. And for no reason at all, we’ll point out here that the father in question has made repeatedly unsettling comments about his own daughter.

Following up with its reportage, CNN’s Erin Burnett asked Preston Harp—Harp’s brother, from whom she’s reportedly estranged—about the revelations. He laughed—a lot, saying, “That’s really funny, I didn’t know about that.”

When Burnett asked him whether he was laughing because it was funny ha-ha (not in those words), he replied, “No, it’s not, I’m sorry. It’s actually sad. That’s obsession. That’s like an unhealthy obsession with someone if you’re going to jump into the trunk of their car.” His words… not ours.
