Pasta Alla Giardia! Brooklyn Beckham Attempts New Spaghetti Endeavor

Brooklyn Beckham is trying his hand at another spaghetti recipe—this one with a briny, diesel-y twist. Let’s see what he cooked up for us.

The aspiring chef/wealthy orphan of Victoria and David Beckham is always one to be experimental in the kitchen, and you have to hand it to him for his tendency to risk death when he cooks. Whether it’s his botulism-packed Sunday roast or his infamous bolognese that mysteriously featured the cork from the bottle of red wine he used, it would seem he enjoys striking fear into the internet (and his dinner party guests) every time he shares a recipe. This time, in a bit of self-promotion for his hot sauce brand, Cloud 23, Brooklyn turned stomachs after sharing a recipe video to TikTok in which he used seawater fetched from the stern of his yacht to cook pasta.

The dish: Hot sauce/Seawater Tomato Pasta. Follow along at home for your own taste.

Step 1: Seawater, preferably collected near your yacht’s diesel engine.

“Of course we get some pasta water,” Brooklyn says to the camera, as he stands on the edge of the boat. The boat appears to be docked in some beautiful cove, probably on the French Riviera, if I know the Beckhams. He then takes the pot of seawater into the kitchen to bring it to a boil.

Technically speaking, seafaring microbes are killed when water reaches its boiling point. However, some culinary experts argue that seawater is too salty for cooking pasta, resulting in an overly salted dish. But that’s not even the main issue here, because while boiling seawater kills microbes, it doesn’t remove pollutants like, say, trace boat-fuel residue. Yum!

Step 2: Tomatoes and hot sauce

Next, Brooklyn sautées cherry tomatoes in olive oil, garlic, and a generous helping of his personal non-GMO hot sauce, Cloud 23, which he launched in 2024.

Step 3: Add your noodles, et voila!

Brooklyn then adds in the noodles, some more mystery pasta water, along with garnishes of parm and basil, and digs in.

“Is there no beginning to his talents?!” one top commenter writes. Others question if Brooklyn is teasing us with ragebait content. Negging aside, Brooklyn is obviously not going to die from eating this, but the maybe-polluted saltwater combined with the hot sauce is enough to cause a gastrointestinal emergency on the high seas.

Still, I tip my hat to him for not giving up on his chef-ing dreams, despite all the criticism he gets, whether deserved or not. There’s only one way to get better! So, until the next spaghetti recipe…
